The Hindu festival calendar in 2026 follows the Drik panchang and Vakya panchang astronomical traditions, both of which are valid and widely followed across different Indian regions. The Drik tradition — followed across most of North India, Bengal, Maharashtra, and the diaspora — calculates festival dates from real-time astronomical positions of the sun and moon. The Vakya tradition — followed in much of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and parts of South India — calculates from older mathematical tables and may date some festivals one day earlier or later. The dates below follow Drik panchang as the most widely used reference.
