About
About HijriHub
HijriHub is a dedicated reference for Islamic and Hindu calendar holidays covering the years 2024 through 2030. We publish authoritative dates, deep significance writeups, regional observance notes, and Hijri-to-Gregorian conversions for over twenty major festivals.
Our Sources
Our Islamic Hijri dates are sourced from the Aladhan Islamic Calendar API (api.aladhan.com), which itself derives from the Umm al-Qura calendar of Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court for religious observances. For festivals tied to lunar crescent observation — the start of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, the Hijri New Year — actual observed dates may vary by ±1 day based on local moon-sighting committee determinations. We list the most widely observed Sunni date and note variations within each holiday page.
Our Hindu festival dates are compiled from the Drik Panchang almanac authority, with cross-references against regional panchang publications including the Mahesh Dharmik Panchang and the Indian government's National Calendar. For festivals tied to specific tithis, nakshatras, or yogas, the date listed corresponds to the day on which the festival is most widely observed under the Drik tradition. Regional variations across Vakya Panchang, Vishuddha Siddhanta, and lunisolar Maharashtra/Gujarat traditions are noted within each holiday page.
Editorial Standards
Every holiday page on HijriHub contains at least 600 words of unique editorial content covering: theological significance, traditional observance practices, regional and cultural variations, food and ritual customs, and historical context. We do not auto-generate text from templates and we do not pad word counts with filler. Each page is reviewed for accuracy against canonical sources before publication.
What We Cover
HijriHub publishes detailed pages for ten major Islamic observances (Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Day of Arafah, Mawlid al-Nabi, Hijri New Year, Day of Ashura, Laylat al-Qadr, Isra and Mi'raj, Laylat al-Bara'ah) and thirteen major Hindu festivals (Diwali, Holi, Navratri, Dussehra, Makar Sankranti, Krishna Janmashtami, Ram Navami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Pongal, Maha Shivaratri, Raksha Bandhan, Karva Chauth, Onam) — covering each one across each Gregorian year from 2024 to 2030, plus year-overview pages, month-overview pages, and Hijri year-overview pages.
Corrections & Feedback
Calendar dates can vary based on regional and traditional moon-sighting practices. If you spot a discrepancy with your local religious authority, please consult their guidance for ritual observance. We welcome correction notes and source citations from qualified scholars.
